A brief summary of your experience: 

For almost 12 years now, I have worked in various areas of healthcare. From working in a doctor’s office specializing in endocrinology, to working in applied behavioral analysis/therapy (ABA), home health care, running group homes, and operating mental health and substance abuse treatment centers. These roles have allowed me to not only expand my knowledge across all levels of care but have also allowed me to grow through my work.

What made you get into this field?  Having dealt with my own struggles and not wanting to accept or come to terms with my identity, in my teenage years, caused me to turn to substances as a form of coping and forgetting. As I slowly came to terms with who I was and not wanting to stay in this cycle, I was able to seek the help I needed to overcome those struggles. I have walked a mile in those very shoes, and in getting a second chance, I was able to make a career of it and now give back and help those who need their own second chance.

What do you love most about your job? . Seeing the outcome of and being a part of someone’s recovery. Seeing our clients succeed in treatment and in life is truly one of the most beautiful things anyone could ever witness. There is a sense of fulfillment; you play this vital role in their success.

What do you like most about Calusa? The culture, the environment, and the vision of Calusa. From the moment you walk into the building, you feel a sense of comfort, serenity, and just an overall sense of being invited and welcomed. I am very blessed to be a part of the team, here at Calusa. I don’t believe I have ever met such a hardworking, invested, and driven team like that of Calusa Recovery.

What do you do for fun? 

The Sunshine State has so much to do for fun, it’s almost impossible to decide. If I had to choose, I would have to say that my love for carpentry, building things, and woodworking are what I like to do for fun. Not to mention experiencing those beautiful beach days and gorgeous sunsets.
