Evening Intensive Outpatient Program

Evening IOP For Addiction And Mental Illnesses

An addiction or mental health disorder is a chronic and persistent illness that affects not only your physical and mental wellbeing, but also affects the lives of your family and friends.

SUDs are a subset of substance use disorders, and as substance use and/or abuse increases, so does stress. Stress leads to an increasingly lonely existence, which, in turn, makes substance use worse and more frequent.

According to SAMHSA’s 2018 NSSH, 20.3 percent of people 12 years of age and older had a substance use disorder (SUD) that was linked to their use of alcohol or illicit drugs in the previous 12 months.

When you have an addiction or mental health disorder, as it gets worse, you may feel like there’s no solution and you can’t get the weight off your shoulders.

You’re stuck in a loop that you don’t know how to get out of.

The same survey found that 21.2 million people needed substance use treatment, but only 1.4% of these people received treatment – with only.9% of these people attending a specialty facility.

There are techniques and professionals who know the best ways to break the addiction and mental health cycle.

One of the Florida options is an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP).

Inpatient Vs. Outpatient: Which Is Right For Me?

The two main types of rehabilitation are inpatient rehabilitation and outpatient rehabilitation, both of which are technically the same.
In a nutshell, inpatient vs. outpatient is pretty straightforward. Inpatient care means you’ll be living in a facility, while outpatient care means you will be living in your home. But knowing a little bit more about the differences will help you make the right choice for your recovery.

Inpatient Rehab

The main difference is that, once again, you’ll be living in the treatment facility. During inpatient care, you have 24/7 access to care and support, and you’re under the care of trained professionals, focusing all of your energy on healing.

The program is designed to take you out of school, out of the workplace, and out of the triggers’ environment. You’ll spend your days in a highly structured and customized program. The program is typically 1-3 months, but can be longer.

This kind of immersive care is especially helpful for those with more serious and long-term addictions.

Outpatient Rehab

The main difference between outpatient and inpatient treatment is that in outpatient treatment, you’ll also work with a specialist in addiction, a counselor and a psychiatrist in a personalized treatment program, and you won’t have to stay the night after your appointment.

This enables you to stay on track; you can go to work or school and keep up with your commitments and responsibilities. Going home gives you access to your network of loved ones.

This type of outpatient treatment is best suited for people with a more mild level of addiction or mental health issues, and those who can’t completely change their lifestyle to get into treatment or to follow up on inpatient treatment.

When considering this treatment, it is important to have a strong support system at home, because there are very few things worse than coming home after a treatment session feeling like you don’t have anyone to support you.

Also, outpatient treatment is usually cheaper than inpatient treatment.

What is Evening Intensive Outpatient Program

Evening Intensive Outpatient Treatment (IOP) is a more intensive outpatient treatment for mental health that is provided to the working professional in the evening between 6:00 pm and 9:00 pm. The level of support is more intense and the treatment duration is longer. In practical terms, this would mean an increase in the number of IOP sessions. The intensity isn’t necessarily determined by the way treatment is done, but rather by how long the treatment lasts.

On the outpatient rehabilitation continuum, IOP is below partial hospitalization but above regular outpatient care.

Evening Intensive outpatient treatment can be started immediately after completing a detox program. It can also be used as a short-term solution after an outpatient or part-time treatment program. It all depends on your situation.

This program is for working people. It also allows you to continue with your normal activities.

Keep in mind that the methods and approaches used in an IOP are similar to inpatient care.

What To Expect At An FL Evening Intensive Outpatient Program
